With thickness ranging around 4"-6" (+/-), full bed stone is the world's strongest and most durable cladding option in existence.  ​

Using extra thickness as trimming stock is a favorite practice amongst world-class stone masons, to achieve what is known as a "pillowed" effect, by pitching around the face of each piece of stone with a chisel. Pillowing the stone adds intrigue, boldness and contrast that can only be achieved with full bed depth veneer.
